چکیده

1. Introduction Multidimensional NMR methods have become an important tool in the 1970s. In the past years a new set of experiments has developed whose postprocessing is based on a multidimensional inverse Laplace transformation rather than a Fourier transformation which provides the capabilities to find correlations between various parameters such as diffusion coefficients D and NMR relaxation times T 1 and T 2 [1,2]. The aim of the present work is to implement these techniques to our spectrometers in order to combine the concept of ultra high pulsed field gradients of up to 35 T/m [3] with modern 2D NMR correlation experiments.

Detection and Characterization of Human Teeth Caries Using 2D Correlation Raman Spectroscopy

Background: Carious lesions are formed by a complex process of chemical interaction between dental enamel and its environment. They can cause cavities and pain, and are expensive to fix. It is hard to characterize in vivo as a result of environment factors and remineralization by ions in the oral cavity. Objectives: The development of a technique that gives early diagnosis which is non-invasi...

(15)N-(1)H bond length determination in natural abundance by inverse detection in fast-MAS solid-state NMR spectroscopy.

A solid-state 15N-1H correlation NMR experiment is presented, which provides a substantial gain in signal sensitivity by 1H inverse detection under fast MAS conditions and allows for the precise determination of NH bond lengths via heteronuclear 1H-15N dipole-dipole couplings on samples naturally abundant in 15N. Pulsed-field gradients or, alternatively, radio frequency pulses ensure suppressio...

NMR Chromatography: Molecular Diffusion in the Presence of Pulsed Field Gradients in Analytical Chemistry Applications

Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is an excellent analytical tool for precise structural characterization of organic and bio-molecules. Though NMR is often used to characterize a single compound in solution, emerging experimental methods using pulsed-field-gradients (PFGs) allow structural dynamic characterization of several compounds, simultaneously in the same solution. NMR as a c...

Two-dimensional NMR spectroscopy in Earth's magnetic field.

We demonstrate the first two-dimensional correlation NMR (COSY) spectra obtained at ultra low frequencies (ULF) using the Earth's magnetic field. Using a specially developed spectrometer with multiple audio-frequency pulses under controlled pulse phase, we observe magnetisation transfer arising from heteronuclear J-couplings in trifluoroethanol and para-difluorobenzene. The 2D COSY spectra exhi...

Improved convection compensating pulsed field gradient spin-echo and stimulated-echo methods.

The need for convection compensating methods in NMR has been manifested through an increasing number of publications related to the subject over the past few years (J. Magn. Reson. 125, 372 (1997); 132, 13 (1998); 131, 126 (1998); 118, 50 (1996); 133, 379 (1998)). When performing measurements at elevated temperature, small convection currents may give rise to erroneous values of the diffusion c...
